Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship
Director: Andrew Kompel, MD
Non-clinical and Research Opportunities
Multiple learning and teaching opportunities are available to the fellow. The fellow will work with the residents on the MSK rotation and assist when questions arise. The fellow will provide didactic lectures to the radiology residents and medical students on the Radiology rotation. Additionally, there are multiple monthly MSK lectures in the resident core curriculum which the fellow will be able to attend. Interdisciplinary conferences with orthopedics, sports medicine and podiatry enhance the learning opportunity with imaging being a main component in the discussions.
The fellow will be mentored in research projects starting from orientation. The MSK section is involved in many areas of research including arthritis, sports imaging and interventional procedures. There are multiple collaborations with other departments including orthopedics, podiatry, and rheumatology to appeal to a wide range of interests and opportunities. The goal is for the fellow to submit at least one project, submitted to a peer reviewed journal and present at a national meeting. Academic time is also possible for the fellow to allow dedicated time to work on a project and presentations.
